COVID-19 Cleaning & Safety Procedures

Following the Town of Snowmass Village, Pitkin County and State of Colorado’s COVID-19 sector guidance, the Recreation Center reopened with intentional measures and expectations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Listed below is a summary of how those measures have been enacted to excel in that goal.

Recreation Center Facility

  •  Use of the Recreation Center is through a reservation system, with the total capacity  limited to ensure social distance
  • The HVAC system in the Recreation Center has been upgraded with specialized components to clean the air and to frequently distribute air in the facility.
  •  Any form of membership may be purchased, ranging from a single day to a year, through the online system.
  •  Reservations are divided into time blocks with limited capacities for the pools, weight room and gymnasium.
  •  In between the blocks of reservation times are mandatory cleaning & disinfecting periods in which only staff are allowed in the building to clean.
  •  Everyone in the building must wear a facemask.

TOSV Staff

  • Staff have been instructed to stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms
  • Employees scheduled to work complete a daily symptom checker to monitor when, if any, symptoms become present.
  • Employees in the workplace socially distance and host meetings outside when possible.
  • Employees routinely disinfect equipment and surfaces.
  • Employees routinely check in with camps and groups renting the facilities to ensure protocols are being followed.
  • Employees wear facemasks

  • Participants must wear a facemask unless otherwise indicated.
  • Participants provide all the information necessary for contact tracing should an incident occur.
  • Depending on the program’s requirements, social distancing measures and group size limits were incorporated.

The Snowmass Village Recreation Center has received praise from multiple sources for our ability to continue to host programs, maintain the facility, and keep functioning for our guests and community all while making COVID-19 prevention a primary goal in every aspect of our operation.
